Adding a New Member Category and Join Page

Adding a new Member category and a join page is a four step process.

Step 1)  Add a page for the new category: An example of a category page is this:

You can clone this page and then rename it. This page is Artists and Galleries Napa. Name the new page according to the new category.

You need to add the Wild Apricot page name to the new page code. Look at the code in the page and replace the category name you find in the page with the category name you copied from the wild Apricot page.

In the sample page you will see some code that has ‘’ in it. “RD-ArtGallery-NV” is the part that needs to be replaced. The Wild Apricot page you created will have this name in its URL. Copy this part and paste it into the new WordPress category code. Then save. Copy the URL of the new WordPress page. You will use it in Step 2.

Step 2) Add the new category page to the page that lists all categories. There are two “All Category” pages. One for Napa. One for Sonoma.

To add the new page open the All Categories page editor copy one of the existing category page listing pages and paste the copy into order alphabetically. Change the title of the pasted page to the title of the new category and paste into the new link the URL from the newly created category page.

3) In order to create a join page you need to follow the same directions you followed in Steps 1 and 2. In this step you will be adding the new Member category to the one of the join pages. This is the Join Napa page:

Just as before you will find a list of categories that link to their own pages. You need to create a new category join page by cloning one of the existing ones. Then copy the Wild Apricot URL category name and paste in into the new WordPress join category pages. The process of creating and listing category join pages is identical to adding a new category page and entering the new category into one of the resource Directories.

The only difference is in the URL name you copy from Wild Apricot and paste into WordPress. The portion of the Wild Apricot URL you copy for join will have the word join it (Join-ArtGallery-NV).
